A few days after his withdrawal from the Big Brother Naija reality TV show, BBNaija season 6 housemate Ololade Gbolahan, also known as Kayvee, has revealed the reason for his mental breakdown.
Kayvee, in a statement on his Instagram page, noted that he underestimated the effect isolation would have on his mental health and integrating with other BBNaija housemates.
The former housemate revealed that he wished to stay till the end of the reality TV show, but certain events that happened in quick succession escalated his anxiety. He said the pressure negatively affected his cheerful, energetic and fun-filled personality.
Kayvee revealed that he had reconnected with family since his withdrawal from the BBNaija house, adding that he is currently in a medical facility to work on the debilitating anxiety he felt during the show.
However, he thanked his friends and fans, who, according to him, have shown him unwavering support during and after he left the show.
You will recall that his social media handler earlier debunked the speculations making the rounds that Kayvee needed to visit a psychiatrist amid concerns about his mental health.
According to Kayvee’s handler, the BBnaija housemate is not the kind of person other housemates and many viewers are painting him to be. The handler added that his friends and family would never allow him to go into the BBNaija house if he had a mental health issue.
Contrary to insinuations regarding mental health, the handler described him as someone big on mental health and positive vibes. The handler noted that Kayvee decided to withdraw into his shell in the BBNaija house because he felt unwelcomed, adding that he needs time to rebuild his energy and vibe (read more here).
