A Kano state professor has died in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The deceased, Prof. Haruna Wakili was the deputy vice-chancellor in charge of administration at the Bayero University, Kano state until his death.
The Kano state professor is the former commissioner of education in Jigawa state, and also the former director of the Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Research and Training. He was a professor of history who specialized in the history of riots, revolts, conflicts, peace studies, democracy and good governance.
He died following protracted illness, of which he was taken to India for treatments for a period of six months but returned during the coronavirus lockdown period.
The former governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido in a statement signed by his media adviser confirmed the death of the kano state professor and commissioner for education under his government.
He said also, “May Jannatul Firdaus be your final abode sir.”
