Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Police Command DSP Abdullahi Haruna has confirmed that officers of the state police command have rescued another fifty-five-year-old man kept in captivity for 30 years.

Confirming the development, DSP Abdullahi stated that details about the man were sketchy as he also added that the man was rescued in Rogo town of the state.

The Nation reported that the man was locked up by his family over alleged mental illness while a picture of the man going viral on social media showed that one of his feet was chained to a heavy log in a room.

It was gathered that the man was said to have been rescued with the help of a group, Human Rights Network who alerted the security operatives.

The rescue of the man brought to three the number of rescued persons that had been locked up for years in a week in the state.

You will recall that one Ahmed Aminu, 32-year-old, confined by his father in a garage for seven years was rescued by the police.

Also, a forty-year-old, Ibrahim Lawan, held in captivity for 15 years was rescued by the police in the state.
