Nigeria Professional Football League giants Kano Pillars has declared their defender, Sunday Chinedu missing. The player has been missing for the past two weeks.
The club made the information known in a statement released on their official website. Kano Pillars chairman Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya Jambul stated that Chinedu went missing from the club camp for the past two weeks without any reason.
According to Jambul, Sunday Chinedu was permitted by the technical adviser of the club, Emmanuel Lionel Soccoia to see his family for medical reasons.
He left the camp on the 28th of December 2020 which he said he will be away for only four days but since then no one in the club has made contact with him. Sunday Chinedu left after the Sai Masu Gida’s Match Day One away to Adamawa Utd at the Pantami Stadium.
The club has now given him between now to the next three days to report back to the camp, and failure to do so will attract stiffer punishment from the part of the club.
Kano Pillars chairman also said: “The management of the club is doing its very best in protecting the interest and welfare of the players and will not accept any move from any quarter to sabotage our efforts.”
He warned all the players in the club to remain focus on the task ahead of them and assured that the management would continue doing its possible best in moving the club forward. The Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL)resumed recently after they agreed to follow all the Covid-19 protocols.
