The Kaduna state House of Assembly has immediately elected a new deputy speaker, barely hours after the former deputy speaker, Honourable Mukhtar Isa Hazo was impeached.
The new deputy speaker, Honourable Isaac Auta is the representative of the Kauru Constituency of Kaduna State. He was sworn in by the clerk of the assembly after he had administered the oath of office and the allegiance on him.
We at EveryEvery reported that the former speaker was impeached after 24 members of the house of assembly in the state had passed a vote of no confidence against him.
Violence meanwhile erupted after the swearing in of the new deputy speaker of the house, when it was reported that Honpurable Liman Dahiru, the representative of Makera Constituency seized the mace after breaking into the floor. The honourable however could not proceed out of the house with the mace as it was seized by the sergeant at arm.
The session ended with honourable Dahiru Liman being dragged out of the chamber with rowdiness, and was later on seen outside with his torn clothes, angry for the impeachment of honourable Mukhtar Isa Hazo.
