Veteran Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, fondly known as K1 de ultimate has revealed that he does not take drugs because it makes him awful.
In a recent interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the 65-year-old also took time to admonish up and coming artists to shun drugs and not lose focus.
K1 De Ultimate Preaches Against Drugs
K1 noted that drugs would derail them from God’s purpose for their lives as they will lose respect from fans. He further noted that contrary to popular myth, drugs do not make one perform better on stage.
While confirming that he does not smoke, K1 said “the issue of drugs goes beyond mere smoking. Today, people inject and sniff all sorts of things, but we must all teach artists about the consequences of the usage of drugs.”
“If I do drugs I’d look awful at my age, just focus on what’s important, which is your craft. They should take their future seriously, if I had been a drug user, I probably wouldn’t be here,” he said.
The ‘Ade Orí Okin’ singer however disclosed that the use of drugs by an artist is not peculiar to the Fuji genre of music, but it is important to educate them on the harm.
