Journalists covering Zamfara abduction in the early hours of Friday, where over 300 schoolgirls were kidnapped, have escaped a mob attack by indigenes of the Jangebe community.
These indigenes demonstrated the students’ kidnap, an occurrence that has sent shockwaves across the entire country.
The journalists were moving in a convoy of two vehicles when they were attacked midway through the town, as angry youths threw stones at the vehicles, asking where the government and security persons were when the attack was going on.
The angry youths smashed a vehicle inflicting various degrees of injuries on a cameraman identified as Babangida Calipha.

The villagers seemingly did not want any government or security presence in their territory, as they claimed that they were utterly useless to the people.
Allegedly, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Abutu Yaro, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, and the State Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs Abubakar Dauran were all blocked from entering the town as a large number of youths protested.
