Journalists Boycott Fani Kayode’s Press Conference In Oyo

The Oyo State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ has asked its members to boycott a press conference called by a former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode in the state.

This is coming a days after the former Minister insulted a reporter with Daily Trust newspaper, Eyo Charles for asking him a question about who was bankrolling his tour but Fani Kayode lambasted the journalist for asking what he described as a stupid question.

You will recall that members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom chapter had also resolved to boycott a press conference planned by the ex-Minister.

In a statement issued on Friday, August 28, the union directed all journalists not to attend any activity organised by the former minister.

However, a former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has urged the NUJ and the Daily Trust Newspaper to forgive Fani Kayode.

In a tweet on Saturday, Sani begged the association and the media outlet to forgive the former Minister given his apology over the derogatory word he used during an altercation he had with Eyo Charles during a Press conference in Calabar, Cross Rivers state.

In a tweet, Shehu Sani said Dear NUJ and Daily Trust, Forgive FFK since he has apologized.
