Heavyweight champion Joe Joyce has backed the British boxer, Tyson Fury, to win the £200million heavyweight showdown against Anthony Joshua. The boxer said he is backing Tyson Fury because Joshua is too wary of getting hit in the ring.
Joe Joyce has had experience with both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, and he does believe Fury stand a better chance of winning the match.
Joyce who is also waiting to fight Oleksandr was asked about the match, and he said: “I’m going with Fury because of his performances and the way he’s come back from his lowest point to beat Deontay Wilder for the WBC.”

He also said: “I think that while Joshua’s picked himself up since losing to Andy Ruiz Jr, he’s been a bit too negative in his style, and been a bit wary of the shots coming back at him.”
Joy Joyce concluded by saying: “Don’t get me wrong, it’s a 50-50 fight, Joshua has got great strength, hand speed, dedication and motivation, and he’s very competitive. With Fury, you know he is mentally very strong, tactically as well. He’s unorthodox and hard to hit, he’s fast, and he’s a bigger guy with the longer reach. For me, he has the edge.”
Joyce came very close to winning the heavyweight world title after beating Daniel Dubois last year, and negotiations are ongoing over a fight against Usyk.
If he wins the match, he will be fighting Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury this year. Joyce is arguably the most unheralded of the current crop of British heavyweights. He has a total of 12 fights and won all of which 11 of those matches were K.Os.
