The Jeremy Kyle Show has been suspended indefinitely after a guest died shortly after filming an episode. Steven Dymond, a 69 year old grandfather died days after appearing on Jeremy Kyle’s ITV daytime talk show.
It’s reported that Dymond had been feeling suicidal and was in tears after filming the episode. He was confident he would pass a lie detector test. But the test, taken during filming on May 2, said Steve Dymond was lying when he denied he had cheated on his fiancee, Jane Callaghan. He was found dead shortly after filming the episode.
The couple split up after the show and a friend of Mr Dymond thinks he took his own life as a result.
ITV said they would not screen the episode which featured the individual who died a week after the recording.
“Everyone at ITV and The Jeremy Kyle Show is shocked and saddened at the news of the death of a participant in the show a week after the recording of the episode they featured in and our thoughts are with their family and friends. ITV will not screen the episode in which they featured.”
The Jeremy Kyle Show has been broadcast on ITV since 4 July 2005. It is based around guests attempting to resolve their issues with each other. With topics often related to extramarital affairs, addiction, and familial conflicts.
