There are indications that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, may extend the deadline for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, 2021 UTME registration.
Sources claimed that the decision to extend the 2021 UTME registration might be due to the hitches experienced by prospective candidates, who face challenges with generating the required codes towards setting up profiles using their National Identification Number.
According to the sources, the challenges faced by UTME prospective Candidates are caused by the NIN mandatory requirement for the registration.
Meanwhile, JAMB registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, is billed to meet with stakeholders, including civil society groups and media, on Friday, May 14.
A senior JAMB official, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, revealed that the JAMB registrar might announce a new deadline for 2021 UTME registration.
However, Oloyede has hinted at the postponement of the UTME, earlier scheduled to hold between June 5 and 19.
He blamed the possible postponement on the difficulties being experienced by the candidates in their efforts to register.
