Ize-Iyamu Wins Edo APC Primaries

The crisis rocking the APC presently can be linked in some way to the Edo APC primaries, with Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu contesting with Governor Obaseki.

The contest led to governor Obaseki defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party to contest for the governorship seat after he was disqualified from contesting in the Edo APC primaries by the APC in the state.

The Edo APC primaries have however taken place and was conducted by governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state as chairman of the election panel, with Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu contesting alongside Dr Pius Odubu and Hon Osaro Obaze.

Ize-Iyamu won the election, commanding a landslide victory with a total of 27,838 over his rivals Dr Pius Odubu and Hon Osaro Obaze who got 3,776 votes and 2,724 respectively out of the 18 LGAs in the state that all took part.
