Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, during the recent governorship elections in Edo State has distanced himself from news making the round that he begged Governor Godwin Obaseki to return to the APC.

While setting the record straight, Ize-Iyamu in a statement by the Director of Communication and Media of his campaign organization, John Mayaki challenged journalists to embrace professionalism and desist from making themselves a tool in the hands of the opposition party.

Against the news earlier reported by some media outlets, not Everyevery.ng, Iyamu noted that it was untrue that he begged Obaseki to return to the APC at a news conference in Abuja.

According to him, the video in circulation is from three months ago, not after the election, adding that it was doctored by Obaseki’s media handlers to seek undue legitimacy.
