Barcelona had to bite their fingers and watch their former player Ivan Rakitic punish them severely in the Copa del Rey’s first leg. Jules Kounde opened the scoring for the home side in the first half of the game to put them in front.
Ivan Rakitic then scored a late goal to seal their victory against his former side Barcelona to give Sevilla an upper hand in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg. Jules Kounde ran from his penalty area and beat four Barcelona players before confidently putting the ball beyond Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Ivan Rakitic to returned to his former side Sevilla following the arrival of Barcelona new coach Ronald Koeman. The player left the Nou Camp because the new manager says he does not need him; he left at the end of August last year.
Rakitic won 11 trophies with Barcelona before leaving, and he was spectacular against his former side. He put out a thumping finish into the roof of the net.
Julen Lopetegui’s side could go without conceding an away goal which is a good thing for them. The return leg will be on the 3rd of March at the Nou Camp.
