Islamic Group Kidnaps 50-Year-Old Man, Others

An Islamic group has kidnapped a fifty-year-old man in Borno State while heading to Maiduguri, the State’s Capital, after taking part in a function at Askira Uba town.

The Islamic State of West Africa Province, ISWAP, decided to abduct the fifty-year-old chieftain, Mohammed Askira and two of his brothers.

The report did not mention the names of his other brothers, but it would be noted that they are all members of the royal family named Askira Uba Emirate in Borno State.

Sources claimed that the said 50-year-old native of the town earlier mentioned and his siblings are all brothers to the present Emir of Askira Uba.

Also, several reports from the region have hinted at the intensified abduction activities by ISWAP terrorists, stressing that the group is causing significant concerns and has entered the state Government’s radar.

Some allegations have also revealed that informants leak information on movements of security personnel and other personalities to terroristgroups in the axis.

The terror group recently appointed Wali Sani Shuwaram, a 45-year-old, as the new Leader of ISWAP in Lake Chad.
