Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has urged the Ministry of Interior and its agencies to do more at ensuring effective service delivery in order to deliver on their respective mandate.

He made the call over the weekend, during the 3rd and 4th quarter 2021 performance review meeting held at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC headquarters Abuja.

According to the Minister, the essence of the review meeting was for the ministry and its agencies to assess themselves both in introspection and challenges, so as to improve their performances.

“The review is to assess the performance of the ministry and its agencies, so as to provide the forum for strategic action and whether the ministry is fulfilling the aspiration of the public.

“The meeting is very important to review the overall performance of Ministry, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, in realizing the agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari,” Aregbesola said.

He maintained that the MDAs have improved on their services but they are not yet there, as there is need for improvement.

In his address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Shuaib Belgore, said the essence of the meeting was to provide key strategies for the promotion of good governance in Nigeria and to promote synergy between the MDAs.
