Inter Milan Loses Ex Coach
Inter Millan today is celebrating the 10th anniversary of it turning the first Italian club to win the treble, it has also on the same day lost one of its former coaches, Luigi Simoni, after suffering from a stroke for almost a years.
Luigi Simoni was the coach who saw that the club bagged the UEFA cup tittle in 1998, but he has unfortunately died at 81.
According to a statement released by Inter Millan, Simoni did not die on an ordinary day, but on May 22 when the club is celebrating.
“Today, 22 May, he left us. Not just any date, the most Inter-related date of all.” The dead former Inter Milan coach has a coaching career that lasted for over 40 years.
His contribution to football did not start when he began his coaching career, but when he played as a midfielder in different clubs live Juventus, Napoli and Torino.
Simoni Scored a total of 32 goals in his 368 line outs, with his 187 appearances in Serie A. The Italian Football Federation President, Gabriele Gravina in his tribute to late former Inter Milan coach, he described him as a great man.
