The Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) has canceled the election in wards in Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State following what it described as electoral malpractices in the state bye election.

According to the Resident Commissioner, Dr Asmau Maikudi, the INEC decided to cancel the election because it was not properly done.

Reports received stated that many ballot boxes were snatched and some of the adhoc workers were kidnapped.

Maikudi also condemned the actions of the thugs, saying that the attitude shows clearly that they do not want peace in Zamfara State at all.
