The site engineer’s wife of the collapsed Ikoyi building is crying out for help as her husband is still missing after one month since the unfortunate incident.

Mrs Adejuwon Ogunfuwa has said she is yet to find her husband Ola Ogunfuwa, whether dead or alive.

Mrs Ogunfunwa, married to her husband for 25 years, is blessed with four children, with the first and second-born being a student of the University.

Narrating her ordeal, she said her husband left home at 5 am on that fateful day, the 1st of November, 2021, while she prayed for her before he left.

“My husband called me past 7 am and said Honey, I am at work now,” Adejuwon narrated.

“I was at work when my Pastor, Taiwo Ogunbiyi, called me and asked what street is your husband currently working? I told him Gerrard, Ikoyi, and he told me the building collapsed just now,” she continued.

The mother of four said she immediately lost control of herself and waited till Tuesday Morning to visit the collapsed building site.

An emotional Mrs Ogunfunwa narrated that, “Early Tuesday morning, I and my pastor went to the site of the collapsed building, but we were not allowed entry.

“My Pastor later gained entry and interviewed a food vendor, asking her if she knew Mr Oladunni?

“She said, is it, Engineer Ola? I saw him,” narrating that he came down to eat, and after washing his hand, the boss, Femi Osibona, called him to inform him that the associates were around for the meeting.

She continued saying the vendor then said he left the food and went for the meeting, and less than 5minutes after reentry, the building collapsed.

Mrs Ogunfuwa stated that she had searched morgues and hospitals, but she hadn’t found her husband; “even the hospitals collected blood samples from the relatives for DNA matching, but we are yet to receive feedback from the Government.

“Since the 1st of November, I have been in pain, the children are asking for their father, what are the Government doing? The families are confused, and I don’t know where to go with the Children; the church doesn’t know what to do,” she narrated.

The daughter, Ibukun Ogunfuwa, said she came back from school to hear about what happened to the father.

Describing her dad, Ibukun said, “He is that kind of person who would always call you, and if he misses calling you in a day, he will make sure to call you early next morning.”

Ibukun added that it was not easy writing her exams during this period but believes her father is still alive.

“I did not take it as something terrible because I believe he is still alive, and I will see my dad alive and not dead in Jesus Name”, she prayed.

The sister of Ola Ogunfuwa, Olufunke Ogunjobi, said he leaves home early in the morning, and even if he would come home late, he calls to let the wife know.

She added that they’d checked every medical facility and morgues, but nothing had happened.

“Please, Lagos State Government should help us and do something, we have called his number, but it is not ringing,” she said.

The Ogunfuwa family are pleading with the State Government to help find their breadwinner, whether alive or dead.
