Ikoyi Building Collapse: More Controversies Unfold

Share

The Ikoyi building collapse incident in Lagos State has been taking different turns following the new details and allegations surrounding the structure’s ownership.

On Friday, 5, 2021, one of the most notable controversies arose regarding the name behind the storey building’s ownership. It has caused major concerns, bringing focus on matters of professionalism and negligence.

Contributing his voice to the incident, the former Deputy National Publicity Secretary (Lagos) of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Timi Frank, reacted to claims that Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has a stake in the 21-storey complex.

Ownership: Comrade Frank Calls Out VP on Ikoyi Building Collapse

He called on the Vice President to tell Nigerians if he was the structure’s owner that collapsed at Ikoyi, Lagos State or otherwise.

Recall that the high-ride building had caved in on Monday, killing the developer and Chief Executive of Fourscore Heights Limited, Femi Osibona and 36 others, including those still not accounted for in the rubbles.

He said that his call on Osinbajo to tell Nigerians the truth about his building ownership has become necessary to lay to rest speculations allegedly linking him to the buildings.

Frank said: “We believe that the VP is not encumbered in any manner to issue a rebuttal or deny the viral allegations, if necessary, to warrant ‘friends’ to come to his rescue. We believe Osinbajo has a capable media aide who has been speaking on his behalf on several issues.”
