Ik Osakioduwa has cried out over the struggle the doctors attending to some victims of the Lekki Tollgate, Lagos State, shooting by men in the Nigerian Army uniform are facing.
He made a call for help on Twitter, stressing that there is urgent need for help in order to fast-track the treatment and life saving exercise going on in different hospitals in the state.
“Some of the gun shot victims from the Lekki Toll shooting have been at Grandville Trauma centre (Opposite VGC) unable to take the bullets out because they need X-rays done. Please reply if you know a hospital that has an X-ray machine and technician present.”
As at the time of filling this report, IK’s tweet is gaining several responses as other Twitter users respond with names and locations of hospitals and centres that have x-ray machine and might be able to safe more lives.
This is happening as the Lagos State government is yet to announce the full details of lives lost to the painful and illegal shooting of unarmed protesters in the state. The governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 stated that there were no casualties from the shooting.
He however announced on Thursday, October 22, 2020 said there was one casualty in one of the hospitals where some of the wounded victims were admitted, but also added that he can not say if the dead was actually a victim of the said attack.
