The Inspector-General of Police, IGP has given out orders for the allegations of rape against popular Nigerian musician Oladapo Oyebanjo aka D’banj to be fully investigated.
The allegations brought forward by Miss Seyitan Babatayo and petitioned by her lawyer, Mr Tommy Ojoge-Daniel accuses D’banj of sexually assaulting her at a hotel in 2018.
The Deputy IGP in charge of the Abuja force criminal investigation department, Anthony Ogbizi was directed by the inspector general of police, Mohammed Adamu to properly investigate the allegations placed and report back to the IGP. This was contained in a letter signed by the principal officer to the IGP, DCP Idowu Owohunwa.
The IGP said in the letter addressing the assault, “I forward herewith a copy of a letter dated June 5, 2020, received from Ojoge, Omileye and partners on the above-underlined subject. I am to respectfully convey the directive of the inspector general of police that you treat. Accept the assurances of my esteemed regards please.”
