IDRIS ELBA IS IN SUICIDE SQUAD 2: BUT THERE’S A TWIST.

It is no longer news that Will Smith has left the group chat of the Suicide suicide squad franchise. However, the rumours that has been circling around his replacements have now been confirmed to be false. It was initially thought that British eye candy Idris Elba was going to be replacing Will Smith as the gun trotting Slade Wilson.

According to Variety Idris Elba isn’t portraying Deadshot in The Suicide Squad as previously believed. Rather, he will be playing a completely different character in the movie. This decision led to taking off “Smith’s” name completely from the rooster. As far as we know now,  Will Smith wouldn’t be back as deadshot due to scheduling conflicts.

In february, news about Elbas involvement in the new suicide squad film spread like wildfire after he had a meeting with the studio and Suicide suicide 2 director James Gunn.  According to reports, Elba “agreed on the spot” to join The Suicide Squad, although, there was no news about the character he was going to be bringing to the big screen even after the meeting.

I personally believe this is the right choice, however the studio has refused to issue any statement of comment a bout this decision. Recasting Smith after just one film would be a huge disrespect to Will Smith.

Furthermore, another strange development is that the new suicide squad film wouldn’t be a direct sequel to Davis Ayer’s 2016 suicide squad. Instead, it’s going to be a soft reboot, though, it’s major premise still remains.

“U.S intelligence officer decides to assemble a team of group of rag tag, incarcerated criminals and supervillains (who she believes can do some good) for a top-secret mission. However, almost half the cast and their characters re getting replaced. Three known actors characters who are making a return include Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Viola Davis and Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg & Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. The movie is set for release in August 6, 2021.
