“I Don’t Want to Be Another Ozo” — Kola Retreats After Dede’s Rejection in BBNaija House

In what is shaping up to be one of the most emotionally intense plotlines of Big Brother Naija Season 10, housemate Kola has publicly backed down from his pursuit of fellow housemate Dede, following what he described as mixed signals and emotional confusion.

Kola, who had earlier declared his feelings for Dede, now says he doesn’t want to be seen in the same light as former BBNaija housemate Ozo, whose unreciprocated affection for Nengi in the 2020 Lockdown edition became a source of widespread ridicule. During a conversation with Sabrina after his diary session and therapy with Ibifubara, Kola confessed that the situation had begun to feel all too familiar.

“She is giving mixed signals,” he said, referencing Dede’s close interactions with male housemates Jason Jae and Koyin, despite her claims of having a romantic partner outside the house. “I hope my team change the narrative of this Ozo and Nengi thing, I will do same when I come out,” he added.

The emotional rollercoaster comes after days of Kola persistently expressing interest in Dede, only to be repeatedly reminded of her commitment beyond the walls of the BBNaija house. With housemates and fans already drawing comparisons to the infamous Ozo-Nengi saga, Kola’s decision to step back may be a strategic attempt to preserve both his pride and public image.

Whether this retreat marks the end of Kola’s emotional journey with Dede remains to be seen — but one thing is certain: BBNaija Season 10 is not short on drama.
