Human rights violations in a functional society is a crime not taken lightly. This act is why Bruce Fein, the American Lawyer that forms part of the legal team to the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, made an affirmation to sue the Federal Government of Nigeria
In an address to journalists yesterday in Abuja, Fein declared to drag the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to the International Criminal Court, ICC, to ensure they conform with the international laws.
The American Lawyer accused the Government of committing crimes against humanity, including violating conventions.
He added that the present administration’s alleged kidnapping and torturing of Kanu in Kenya violated human rights.
According to Fein: “Among other institutions, I plan to visit the International working group on arbitration that sits in Geneva,” stressing that the group is an arm of the United Nations, UN, and a human rights council.
He said IPOB’s legal team would pursue all these on legitimate platforms in the international community to clarify and bring to light anything that transpires regarding IPOB’s leader‘s case.
