Samsung devices are among the dominating devices in the market. In Nigeria, we have iPhones and Samsung as the kings of devices. Spotting fakes in the market is getting more and more difficult every day. Clone manufacturers are getting more specific by the day.
Previously, we’ve noted how to spot fake iPhones. Today, we’ll talk about Samsung S, how to spot its fake to avoid your money going down the drain.
Take note of the user interface. Original models have TouchViz UI. If it has a slightly different user interface (UI) it’s probably a fake. Original Samsung S series models come with an Android 4.2.2 ROM pre-installed in them. Go through your settings to verify.
Although, even fakes write that it’s a 4.2.2. But to know if it’s actually what is in use, take a snapshot. Therefore, hold volume down + power button and see if it takes a snapshot. Original Jellybean has this feature while the Gingerbread doesn’t.
Higher Samsung Galaxy models have their own unique features. Check each of your device features to spot a fake one easily.
Genuine Samsung S models have high brightness levels and lag-free video playback. There is always a noticeable difference in the display quality of fake and real models.
Make an observation of the color of the LED flash, body color, performance, camera quality, etc. But this method is not reliable in the case of all fake models. Some fake models beat the original.
When buying an S series, they will always come with a warranty card and a user manual. Don’t purchase any device without it.
Know where you are buying from. Most states in Nigeria have computer villages or phone centers. That is a large place where the main thing carried out is selling, buying and repairs of phones and laptops.
There are some sellers in these places that specifically sell fake phones and after duping individuals they disappear. So to be on the safe side, buy from Samsung stores or from the Samsung website online.
