How to deal with Negative people.

Share

Dealing with negative people can, without a doubt, be a handful. Our inability to be happy could rest on the fact that we surround ourselves with toxic energy rather than positive ones. Nevertheless, cutting off this bad energy isn’t always the solution. This is because, most times, this only works when the person is temporary in your life. There is always room to cut off an angry co-worker but what if it’s a spouse or even a parent. There are other ways backed by science which enables one deal with negativity, whether it’s a friend, co-worker or a family member.

1. Limit time spent.

You don’t owe everyone your undying allegiance. If you notice someone has unhealthy amounts of bad chi radiating from them, you limit the time you spend with them. Especially if you try to make them see the positive side of things and they have an unwavering attitude.

2. Don’t get sucked in.

Negative people love to talk and drag others down because of some type of insecurities they may have. However, don’t get sucked into this. You don’t have to take that person’s opinion about anybody or about life in general. The fact that they’re your friend or acquaintance doesn’t mean both of you should share the same views. Negative people love to see other people in the same situation as them, therefore, before you know it, you yourself could turn into that person. However, don’t buy into it. Keep your mind focused on the positive side of everything, no matter how difficult it may seem.

3. Find the Good in the Person

Everybody has a hidden personal struggle or demons they try to fight daily. At the same time, everybody has a good side. Almost every human being has that hidden struggle which could be the cause of their negativity and toxic attitude, so talk to them. Empathize with them and try to find out the cause of their negative attitude. You never know, you may be their angel sent from above to break them free of the shackles of negativity.
