Just by a very slim chance, a Senator representing Plateau South Constituency, Mrs. Nora Dadu’ut, got lucky as she maneuver her way passed some angry youths protesting for reasons related to challenges in the state.
However, she was not alone when the horrific incident happened. Her husband and several journalists reportedly touring the location with her, were also trapped in the dreadful harassment.
They were held hostage for hours at Namu village, Qua’an Pan local government area of the Plateau State, as the angry youths blocked the only route leading to Lafia and Jos.
It was gathered that she was in the area to commission her constituency project after building and installing the only Information and Communications Technology, ICT Centre/public e-library.
It was learnt that the ICT Centre/public e-library was constructed to give students access to online registration of examinations as well as meet other educational needs.
From observations, the report revealed that Qua’an Pan, among the most rural local government area in the Plateau South Senatorial zone, lacks basic facilities, and access to ICT for any online registration.
