How JAMB Failed Students, yet Increased Form Price

Share

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, in its wisdom, has insisted that the students willing to sit for the exam should pay extra fee for the exam form.

The proposal came as a shock to Nigerians when many of the affected quickly pupils took to Twitter to air their grievances regarding the new decision.

In the recent past, there have been several complaints from students that attempted to sit for the examination but could not because of the shortcomings of the matriculation board.

In Television Magazine programmes like the Human Rights’ Brekete Family Show, many students have made appearances to report the agency for frustrating their efforts to take the assessment test.

From all observations from Twitter JAMB trend, it is clear that the matriculation board is mainly interested in the revenue generation aspect for the Board and has almost completely neglected the well-being of students that paid to write the assessment but somehow couldn’t find their names or the system failed to log them in time for the test.

The best proposal the Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, put forward to the House of Representatives members is upwardly reviewing the form purchase price from N3,500 to N5,000.
