Hilda Baci seems to be surrounded by controversy since receiving recognition for her cook-a-thon. Barely a month after trying to break the Guinness world record for the longest cooking time by an individual, she was challenged by Chef Dammy.
Chef Dammy (Damilola Adeparusi), who hails from Ekiti State, is being accused of envy for attempting to break her record before she claimed her award. The Akwa Ibom chef has released a tweet supporting Dami’s bravery. However, stars like Beverly Naya and Ruth Kadir have expressed distaste for the Ekit State Chef’s actions.
Before this cook-a-thon controversy, Hida was attacked by Dog lovers. She released a video with Tiktok Influencer Eni, where they ate Dog meat. Many dog owners and lovers were appalled and called the act animal cruelty.
Fast forward to today, she is under attack for allegedly swindling 3Million off fans. They accuse her of collecting the sum of money and failing to show up at the event.
Hilda went on Instagram Live to address the allegations. She revealed that she was paid for an appearance, only to realise it was a meet and greet. She realised that the organisers had charged her fans to meet with her.
Hilda revealed that she was against such. She explained that she would never charge her fans for meet and greet; she believed it should be free. As a result of her belief, she made plans to return the money.
She revealed she made efforts to return the money. It is unclear if the money was returned.
Hilda claims the organisers are accusing her of turning down the event due to backlash from Twitter, which she claims is untrue. She claimed she had already turned down the gig once the flier was out because she realised they were charging fans.
The drama that surrounds Nigeria’s Beloved Chef seems to be never-ending. We can only hope for rest as she awaits her Guinness World Record.
