Residents Protest Increase in Banditry in Katsina State
Not less than 19 people have been reported dead in two villages in Kaduna and Benue states from herdsmen attack.
In Kaduna state, 17 people were killed during the attack by suspected herdsmen in Gonan Rogo village in Kajuru LGA with about 5 people severely injured. There was also a report of 2 females kidnapped in Sabon-Jero village also in Kaduna state.
Herdsmen Kill Many in Kaduna, Benue Villages
An eyewitness report said the village was invaded and many houses were burnt. It says that the bandits invaded the village in large number. At the moment, the state police command is yet to confirm the reports.
Also, in Benue state, 2 farmers and 4 herdsmen were also confirmed dead from the Agasha community attack in Guma LGA of the state.
An eyewitness report attested that the herdsmen invaded the village late at night shooting sporadically. This led to people fleeing to safety and unfortunately, two were killed in the operation. It said that people are deserting the Agasha community in search of safety.
Military troops have now surrounded the community trying to restore normalcy in the area. They have subsequently attacked the armed herdsmen at their temporarily camp and 4 of them were killed in the operation.
