Four days after some gunmen attacked a catholic church in Owo, killing many and injuring several others, another attack has been reported in Ondo Town.
In the early hours of Thursday, four persons were reported to have been shot dead by gunmen operating on a motorcycle in the Sabo and Igba area of the town.
The four persons who have been confirmed dead were said to be a commercial driver, tea sellers, and roadside traders.
An eyewitness said it was a cultist’s attack on a rival cult group; another witness stated that the gunmen shot sporadically, killing three persons in Sabo and one person at Igba.
A police source in the town said the shooters were armed robbers who attempted to rob residents and traders in the area.
However, the Ondo Police spokesman, SP Fumilayo Odunlami, said she would issue a statement after getting a proper brief on the incident.
