Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and defender Ruben Dias have been voted English Premier League player and manager of the season. The Portuguese international who won the Football Writer’s Association award in the league before the end of the season was influential in central defence for City, who won the English Premier League.

While for the manage Pep Guardiola, he was named the Premier League manager of the season for the third time in four years. It is a big win for the 24-year-old Dias, who joined Manchester City last September. The defender made 32 league appearances for Man City over the season, playing a part in 15 clean sheets.
Manchester City won 23 of the league matches Dias played, as they also won the Carabao Cup and finished as runners-up in the Uefa Champions League. The winner was decided by votes from the public on the EA Sports website, combined with those of the 20 Premier League club captains and a panel of football experts.
Also on the nomination list were Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne, Tottenham’s skipper Harry Kane who won the Golden Boot award, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Chelsea’s Mason Mount, West Ham’s Tomas Soucek and Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish.
For Guardiola, he beat the likes of Marcelo Bielsa, David Moyes, Brendan Rodgers and Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to win the manager of the season award. He won the award previously in 2017-18 and 2018-19, which means he has levelled with Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho, who have both won the award three times. Only former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has won it on more occasions. He has won 11 in total.
