Former Liverpool and Newcastle United manager Graeme Souness has blasted Manchester United Portugues str player Bruno Fernandes. According to the former player and manager, he said Bruno Fernandes “would not last five minutes” in his dressing room.
Graeme Souness Says Bruno Will not Last Five Minutes in his Dressing Room
Graeme Souness made the statement because of the midfielder’s attitude. The 26-year-old was criticized by the manager following their 4-2 loss to Germany at the weekend. Fernandes failed to make an impression in either of Portugal’s two fixtures so far, with zero goals or assists to his name.
Fernando Santos’ side beat Hungary in their opening game 3-0, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring two in the game. They played their second Group F game against Germany and lost 4-2, with Ronaldo scoring one and assisting the second for his team.
Bruno Fernandes started the game but made no special impact in the game and so was removed. Graeme Souness said: “He’s an exceptionally talented boy. There is so much to like about him. A great striker of the ball, when he shoots, he makes the goalkeeper work.”
The former Rangers player also said he has played with many players, but he can not accept the attitude that player is putting up. He said Bruno doesn’t get the ball, and he is always waving his hands around. Souness concluded his comment by saying the player can not last five minutes in his dressing room even though he is a wonderfully talented player.
