CROSS RIVER GOVERNOR AYADE SPEAKS ON COURT SACKING

Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, recently reacted to looming reports that a Lagos Court of Appeal had sacked him as the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), ahead of Saturday’s election.

Governor Ayade however debunked the rumours as fake and stated that he had no pending matter before the Appeal Court.

In his own words, the Governor described the reports as the “handiwork of political opponents who have been dazed by the reality that his bid was a fait acompli.”

Governor Ayade issued a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Ita reading thus:

“The case instituted in a Federal High Court in Abuja by Mr Emmanuel Ibeshi was discontinued when he filed a legitimate notice of discontinuance and as such, never went on appeal.”

The Governor further urged members of his support and the public to disregard what he termed “fake report.”
