A piece of Good news dropped at Liverpool camp recently as their long-awaited defenders Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez returned to camp and are both ready for Liverpool preseason games. The two players suffered injuries last season, which made them missed more than half of the entire season.
Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez to Join Liverpool Preseason Team
The players are currently with other players in Austria, where they will be playing some of their preseason games. Vigil Van Dijk was out for an extended period with significant knee injuries, which he sustained in their Premier League game against city rivals Everton on the 17th of October.
While 24-year-old Gomez got injured while on international duty with his country England in November, Jurgen Klopp added their new £35m signing Ibrahima Konate to the preseason team. The manager named a 34-man squad for the camp, with Van Dijk and Gomez expected to be involved in the group sessions.
Liverpool remains the only club not to have any preseason matches posted on the Premier League website. The Reds could play at least one game at Anfield, along with some other partners elsewhere.
