Gernot Rohr Tells 21-Year-old Eze to Decide Fast

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr have told Queen’s Park Rangers star player Eberechi Eze to decide fast on the country he wants to represent nationally, he however urge the player to pledge allegiance to three-time African Cup of Nations champions Nigeria.

21 -year-old Eberechi Eze was born in London to Nigerian parents and so he is eligible to play for Nigeria. The Queens Park Rangers midfielder trained with the Super Eagles in March 2017, when they visited London for friendlies against the Terangha of Lions and Stallions of Burkina Faso.He has however made a handful of appearances for England’s U-20 and U-21 sides.

The Nigerian Football Federation and the Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr are serious in their attempts to make Eberechi Eze commit his international future to Nigeria but the player is not willing to make a decision yet. It is because of his delay in making a decision that Gernot Rohr is telling him to decide fast.

The Super Eagles head coach said: “We hope Eze will come. But you know there is a process to follow.” He also said: “If they play already for the youth team in England or other countries, there is a process, write a letter, go to the FIFA commission, and so on.” The decision to play for Nigerian by the Queen’s Park Rangers midfielder is not in the hands of anybody but his, so it is left to him to decide.
