Germany takes on Argentina on Wednesday in an international friendly. Both teams seem to be battling with proper transitional stages. The German side has been rising and falling since after the winning of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. While Argentina looks to prepare a post–Lionel Messi future.
Both teams will be parading their young talents and the games promise to be interesting. For the Argentines, is time to repay what the Germans did to them in the FIFA World Cup finals in 2014 while the Germans look to maintain their record over the Argentines. Argentina will be playing without their key players.
The likes of PSG star player Angel Di Maria, City’s Sergio Aguero, and Lionel Messi are left out of the list. Messi is facing his three months international ban issued by CONMEBOL for abusive comments he made at the summer Copa America. Juventus’s Paulo Dybala, Atletico Madrid’s Angel Correa and Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez were listed to feature in the game.
All eyes will be on Lautaro Martínez, who has been in form both for country and Club side. Martinez(22) has started in six of the Albiceleste’s last seven international matches. He registered five goals in his last few appearances for Argentine including a first-half hat-trick against. The central defense will have Pereyra, Nicolás Otamendi and Marcos Rojo.
The German side will be playing at an advantage as the match will be played in Dortmund. Joachim Low has introduced new players to his squad and dropped some old faces. Serge Gnabry of Bayern Munich, who is on fire both for club and country was invited.
The 24-year-old forward has scored five goals across nine appearances in all competitions for Munich this season (four of those strikes famously coming against Spurs). Gnabry has scored in each of his last three starts Germany.
Toni Kroos suffered an injury in Real Madrid last game against Granada and so, was left out of the squad. Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan will return to the starting lineup alongside Joshua Kimmich in the midfield. Marc–André ter Stegen could get the goalie position ahead of Manuel Neuer the skipper.
