Gas Leakage: LASG Warns Residents Against Starting Open Fire

Gas leakage alerts have been passed across various parts of LagosState by the Government in order to avert a disaster waiting to happen.

The Lagos State Government, LASG, through the disaster waiting to National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has instructed residents of Ikeja to desist from sparking open fire as this action is currently unsafe in the area.

On Wednesday, according to a press statement made available to reporters by the Spokesperson for NEMA, South-West Region, Ibrahim Farinloye, the agency advised homeowners to take safety precautions to prevent any form of disaster due to the gasleakage reported in the area.

Areas Affected by Gas Leakage in Ikeja

Listing the areas affected by the emergency gas situation, NEMA revealed that the inhabitants of Computer Village, Ikeja Underbridge end of Awolowo Way, Oba Akran axis, Anifowose Street, and Medical Road.

The Spokesperson warned that residents around Computer Village, Underbridge Awolowo Way, and Oba Akran axis, Anifowose Street, Medical Road must not open shops or use open naked fire for safety reasons.

It is also noteworthy to check the area for electrical malfunctions or power surges to avoid sudden sparks that may lead to a major disaster in the area.
