Gary Cahil Confirms Exit from Crystal Palace

Former England and Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahill has left Crystal Palace after his contract expired. The 35-year-old arrived at Selhurst Park on a two-year deal in August 2019 after he had been released by Chelsea. Speaking about his departure, he said: “After much thought and deliberation, I can confirm that I have left Crystal Palace.”

Gary Cahil scored one goal in his 45 Premier league appearances for the club. New Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has signed defenders Joachim Andersen and Marc Guehi this summer. With arrival of this two players is obvious he will not be getting playing time as before again.

Gary Cahill won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League and Europa League during his time at Chelsea. The former Bolton and Aston Villa player made 61 appearance for his national team England before stepping down after the 2018 World Cup.

While that game produced seven goals, Mexico’s match against South Korea featured nine – the former winning 6-3 to set up a semi-final with Japan.

The hosts are are now one win away from securing a first medal in men’s football since claiming bronze at the 1968 Games.
