Former Super Eagles playmaker Garba Lawal has come out to warm Nigeria following the African Cup of Nations draw. The Super Eagles were drawn in Group D alongside some other African teams. The ex-Super Eagles star advised the Super Eagles to take every game seriously regardless of the opposition.
Nigerian was drawn in Group D with Egypt, Sudan, and Guinea-Bissau. From the draw, fans are already saying Nigeria and Egypt will make it to the next stage. Garba Lawal said they should take every game seriously. He made this known in an interview. He pointed out that Egypt will be Nigeria’s toughest opponent in the group.
Nigeria will face the Pharaohs of Egypt in the opening match, but Garba stated that he hopes the present group of players will make Nigeria proud by winning the trophy, which is to be played in Cameroon.
According to him, he said: “Without any doubt, Egypt will be difficult, but the other teams should be given the same respect.” He also said: “Any nation that qualifies for the finals cannot be a pushover. There won’t be any easy match for the Super, so they must be at their best.”
“I hope the present group of players will make Nigeria proud by winning the trophy in Cameroon,” said Lawal, who represented Nigeria at four editions of the Africa Cup of Nations.”
