Today Friday the AFCON 2021 qualifier games of matchday 1 continue with many African countries eyeing a good start. The games will start by 4 pm prompt and over here we will be giving predictions after the match preview. The predictions will come from their head-to-head challenge and present form.
Tunisia vs Libya
Today Friday Tunisia will be out to battle Libya for three points in their Stade Olympique de Rades pits. The two teams face each other at the start of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in matchday 1 of the qualifiers. The Tunisians were producing excellent performances at the just concluded 2019 Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Egypt, they made it to the semi-finals before elimination from the tournament.
The Aigles de Carthage aim to repeat the success, and we are positive that they will go all out against the visitors Libya, in their opener. Libya has been winless in their last four games and will be aiming to end the four-game winless run today Friday. We do believe the home-side will not allow the visitors to beat them in front of their fans in the Stade Olympique de Rades. You should bear in mind that Tunisia, is a real force to reckon with at home. Tunisia has been able to beat Libya in all their previous encounter and we do believe history is about to repeat itself.
Morocco vs Mauritania
Morocco will be looking to kick off its 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a win over Mauritania as they host Mauritania on Friday. The two teams will face each other in front of the Morocco fans at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah this evening. Morocco suffered a 3-2 loss to Gabon in their last friendly game, but they are surely capable of beating Mauritania in front of home fans.
A man to watch in the home team will be Ajax superstar Hakim Ziyech, who has found the back of the net five times this season. Mauritania faces a side that will do anything possible to ensure a perfect start to the AFCON 2021 tournament. Given the number of high-profile footballers in the home team, we are sure the home side will take all three points. Our prediction is in favor of the home team and we are sure the visitors will return home empty-handed. In their last meeting in a competitive match, Morocco outclassed the Mauritanian side 4-0.
Zimbabwe vs Botswana
Zimbabwe is on a three-game winning run in their home ground, with the team scoring exactly three goals in each of their previous three home matches. A man to watch in the home team will be Kaizer Chiefs attacker Khama Billiat, who is likely to make life difficult for the opposition defenders.
Botswana has been unable to find the back of the net in their last four games in all competitions. They will be looking to give their fans something to cheer about when they face Zimbabwe at National Sports Stadium in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. The Zebras aim to regain their fans support to boost their morale, the Friday game is a must-win game.
The game will increase their confidence, but they are seen as underdogs in Friday’s football game. Botswana has been struggling in front of goal in 2019, which is probably the main reason why away win should not be considered. In their last meeting in a competitive match, Zimbabwe defeated Botswana it ended in penalty. Our prediction for the game will be home and under 2.5.
Tanzania vs Equatorial Guinea
Tanzania will host Equatorial Guinea in their Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium today Friday in the Friday AFCON qualifier game. The Taifa Stars has not been in form, they failed to impress their fans on their debut at the Africa Cup of Nations held in Egypt. They have suffered a loss in each of their three group games at the just concluded tournament in Egypt. Tanzania aims to make a flying start to their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign. We are positive that they will fight tooth and nail on Friday as they host Equatorial Guinea.
The Nzalang Nacional, on the other hand, did well to make it to the 2015 AFCON semis. But they failed to qualify for the 2019 tournament. Equatorial Guinea does not have a good away record but they will come all out to get a point in the encounter on Friday. We believe that placing a bet on the home team won’t be a bad ideal at all. A man to watch in the home team will be Genk attacker Mbwana Ally Samatta, who has netted 18 goals for the national team to date.
