Despite beating Luton Town 3-1 in the English F.A. Cup fourth round, Frank Lampard is set sacked as Chelsea’s head coach. According to reports, the club has contacted a couple of coaches to take his place as the new Chelsea coach.
Chelsea management has contacted former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri and former Borussia Dortmund and PSG boss Thomas Tuchel to replace him. Even in the list to replace Frank Lampard is former Liverpool and Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez.
Chelsea thrashed Luton Town 3-1 in the F.A. Cup fourth round on Sunday Curtesy of Tammy Abraham’s hat-trick but the result did not seem not enough to save Lampard in his job. According to Sky in Germany, the former Paris St-Germain manager Tuchel is the favourite to take Frank Lampard’s place.
Lampard was appointed head coach at Stamford Bridge in July 2019 and during his first season guided the club to Champions League qualification and the F.A. Cup final. Chelsea has spent more than £200m on seven new signings, including big-money transfers for Kai Havertz and Timo Werner. Their position in the Premier League table is not reflecting the MoneyMoney spent.
Lampard started the season well with Chelsea as they went 17 games unbeaten, but since December they have not been impressive. They lost away to Everton, Wolves, Arsenal and Leicester and were also beaten 3-1 at home by Manchester City.
These failures are the accumulated reasons the club owner Roman Abramovich is not smiling with Frank Lampard for a lot of money has already spent.
