Four Delta Poly Students Suspended

I doubt if the students of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) had to walk to and fro its campuses with guns despite being a military institution, but Polytechnic students were found in possession of guns within the school premises.

The fours students of the Delta State Polytechnic, situated at Otefe-Oghara, has been suspended indefinitely for the possession of illegal guns. The four students consist of two final year students. They were caught with the firearms by security operatives during the institution’s cultural day celebration held on Thursday 18th July 2019.

The Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara, confirmed the suspension of the students in the school’s bulletin. The names of the suspended students were given as Ogbekhilu Collins, a final year student of Mechanical Engineering; Oghenede God bless, also a final year of Elect-Elect Engineering; Agbagbara Ernest, an ND 1 Regular 2 student of Industrial Engineering and Omare Andy, an ND II Regular 1 student of Business Administration and Management.

The school authority has, however, handed over the four students to the police for further investigation after their suspension.
