Food Critic Opeyemi Famakin Receives Thre@t from Cubana Chiefpriest After Restaurant Review

Share

Popular food critic Opeyemi Famakin recently found himself in the middle of a brewing controversy after reviewing Cubana Chiefpriest’s new restaurant, Donald’s. Opeyemi, known for his candid and often harsh food reviews, didn’t hold back when criticizing the restaurant, calling out the “hard pastries” among other complaints.

However, it wasn’t long before Opeyemi claimed he received a private threat from the nightlife mogul, Cubana Chiefpriest. In a direct message sent via Instagram, Cubana allegedly wrote: “Karma is real, you must pay for whatsoever you sow in life. I don’t fight lowlifes, I leave them to karma. The business you did your wicked review on is owned by a 6-year-old.”

Curiously, in the public comments section of Opeyemi’s review, Cubana appeared to take a completely different tone, writing, “Thank You For Stopping By Foodie, Stay Blessed,” leaving followers unaware of the escalating tension behind the scenes.

Famakin, in response, posted screenshots of the messages with the song Peace by Mohbad playing in the background. He captioned the post with a stark warning: “I Know A Threat When I See One, I guess It’s Time To Leave Imo State ASAP. If anything happens to me while I am here, well, you know who to hold. I love how he was polite in the comment section for the world to see and it was a different tone in my DMs.”

Famakin’s choice of Mohbad’s Peace wasn’t random. The song alludes to the tragic death of Nigerian musician Mohbad, who had previously voiced concerns about his safety before his passing, which many fans believe went unaddressed. Opeyemi’s post seemed to draw parallels, suggesting that Nigerians shouldn’t ignore his own cry for help as they allegedly did with Mohbad.

The post has sparked significant attention online, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the situation, urging for peace between the two. Neither Cubana Chiefpriest nor his representatives have made further comments on the alleged threat.
