Folorunso Alakija Celebrates International Men’s Day

Nigeria Billionaire Mrs Folorunso Alakija celebrates International Men’s Day on her Social media page.

The businesswoman took to her Instagram page to celebrate “all the incredible men who are positive role models to young ones”.

Mrs Alakija, in her opinion, stated that men are just in need of celebration and support as women, adding that “a thriving society cannot be possible without equal focus on both genders”.

Men are also Imprisoned by Societal Expectations – Folorunso Alakija

According to World Health Organization (WHO), suicide rates are significantly higher for men than their female counterparts.

She added that just like women, men are also imprisoned by unrealistic societal expectations and stereotypes.

She reiterated that this reason is enough to set a day apart to celebrate men, especially those that are a loving pillar of strength to their families and communities.

70-year-old Business mogul, author and philanthropist is married to her husband Modupe Alakija and are blessed with two children.

International Men’s Day is celebrated annually on November 19th.
