Florentino Perez re-elected as Madrid President

Perez has been serving as president of Real Madrid for 12 years since taking over from Ramon Calderon in June 2009.

Famed for his ‘Galacticos’ approach to transfer business, his first stint with Real delivered several notable additions between 2000 and 2006 and having returned to the boardroom in 2009, recruiting Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, Kaka and Karim Benzema in that window, he is now set to continue calling the shots after facing no opposition in the latest ballot.

Under Perez, Madrid clinched the Decima – their 10th Champions League crown – in 2014, adding a couple more subsequently.

Real remain in the market for marquee additions and are being heavily linked with the likes of Pari Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.
