First Lady, Aisha Buhari, Under Heavy Fire for Jailing Student Aminu

Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari is under heavy criticism for taking the student of Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, Aminu Mohammed, to court and allowing the judge to sentence him to prison.

The trial, according to Aminu’s Uncle, Shehu Baba-Azare, was private, adding that no prior notice was issued to the family before he was arrested and taken to court.

Monitoring the progress of the case, the likes of Co-Founder of #BringBackOurGirls Movement, Aisha Yesufu, tweeted about the incident.

She said, “Aisha Buhari, her husband and her children should be the ones in jail, not Aminu.”

Several other Tweeps took the social media platform to also condemn the act and insisted that the young man was not telling a lie, adding that the first lady could abandon her affairs just to pay attention to a student that spoke the truth about her.

However, some persons supported the action of Aisha Buhari, stating that if the student has proof for his claims that she’s corrupt, then he should present them to be set free.
