The immediate-past Minister of Power, Mr Saleh Mamman, has discarded reports circulating various media platforms claiming he fainted the instance news about his dismissal got to his notice.
Reports dispersed on Thursday 2 indicated that the former power minister collapsed at the instance of receiving the sad news about President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to replace him on Wednesday 1.
Reacting abruptly to the reports, Mamman, in an interview with BBC, said that his doctors only advised him to take some rest, adding that the news stating he collapsed is false.
Mannan revealed he had suffered some ailments in the past and that nothing connects it to speculations about collapsing over being fired from office.
“Even before I announced this step, I was very unwell because I did not even go to the office earlier this week.
“So, yesterday (Wednesday) and today (Thursday), I also went back to the hospital for another round of check-up; and the doctor instructed that I needed some ‘rest’ so I remained at one place to rest,” he said.
