FG Commissions 1st National Centre For Artificial intelligence

The Minister of communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami has on Saturday commissioned the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.

The Project was initiated by Pantami and implemented by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

Speaking, Pantami said the global paradigm shift from mere paper qualifications to digital skills necessitated the establishment of the centre.

Pantami noted that the Centre will serve as a leading hub of innovation, research and development.

Also, he said the Centre will create a vision for Artificial Intelligence, and provide access to specialized technical skills in the country.

According to the Minister, the centre will provide a robust platform for achieving a digital economy for Nigeria through digital literacy.

Furthermore, he opined that the centre will productively engage the youths, create more jobs and inspire digital entrepreneurship.

He, however, commended the Director-General NITDA, Mallam Kachifu Abdullahi and his team for bringing the vision to life.

Everyevery.ng gathered that the new centre is fully equipped with training facilities, 3D Printers and co-working space for start-ups.

Others are digital innovation laboratory, Makerspace and fabrication laboratory infrastructure and printed circuit board facilities.
